Sad War News
On the radio this morning I heard that Pat Tillman died in Afganistan in a fire fight yesterday. Pat Tillmen was an NFL player that gave up a 3 year, 3 million dollar contract, to join the Army rangers after 9/11. While any soldier dying is sad, human nature makes it more sad to hear of the death of someone whose story we know, a face we are familiar with. And honestly, Pat Tillman's story is just so heroic. A bright light in the world anyway, the guy ignored the lure of big money and fame to do what he believed in--serve his country. Once he made the decision, he refused all interviews and asked for no special treatment. He inspires me to find what I believe and have the integrity to DO it and stick with it.
so sad.
Phoebe has learned a new thing--frowning. I am continually amazed how she will suddenly start doing something completely new. From one day to the next, she changes. Yesterday, she suddenly started doing this intense frown when she doesn't like something--particuarly Greg or I telling her not to do something. She gets her whole face into the frown-a little pinch between the eyebrows, an intense look in her eye, pursed lips, and, of course, the jutting chin.
I had to try so hard not to laugh every time she did it.
